I had the pleasure of working closely with Val during our time at Truffle Hunting Ltd, where she played a key role in the development and opening of a number of hospitality venues, including Fare in Wokingham, Wilding in Oxford, The Oarsman in Marlow and The Mutton at Hazeley Heath, as well as The Crown at Bray.
Her role went far beyond day-to-day operations. She was instrumental in putting the systems and infrastructure behind each business in place, from reservations and property management systems, websites and online booking platforms to HR, recruitment, voucher platforms, menu uploads and also supporting ongoing content and marketing strategy implementation.
We worked closely together on opening critical paths, ensuring that all the different elements of each new business came together smoothly and were ready for launch. Val is exceptionally organised, practical and thorough, with a strong instinct for both marketing and customer experience whilst also possessing a firm commitment to develop the team around her through clear and concise training.
